I’m here for your monologue!! Found you last week and I’ve been jumping all over your prior videos. I’m a maker / artist so I love all your projects too!

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this. I live in the South of England and you have captured all the things I love about it. Wishing you many happy travels in the future.

You can use fabric from old shirts, thrift store fabric, sheets, or especially men's XX+L shirts. At our small town Texas thrift store kids' clothes are 50 cents each. I dont buy much at Walmart anymore!

That was all lovely. Sadly Warwick Castle is a theme park. It's owned by Madam Tussauds, of London Waxworks fame. If you ever pass through Warwick again, forget the castle, find a little cobbled dead end lane called Mill Street and walk down it to the bottom. There's a cottage there with a private garden open to the public. It's glorious. You can sit on a bench in there, with the castle curtain wall soaring up behind your and facing the beautiful river with the garden to your left. It's a gem. And there won't be a coach load of tourists in it.

Looking at England through the eyes of a visitor who is not seeking out all the main tourist spots is delightful. You have found wonderful places to stay and lovely lanes and villages and views. You make me realise what we have on our doorstep. Like you, I love them when they are quiet. Stratford upon Avon is always rammed. Mostly with Japanese tour parties. I got married there, but the crowds can be off-putting. The Other Place is the best theatre there and my friend works as a school master in Shakespeare's school room! Thank you for reminding me how pretty England is. I live in a beautiful tiny stone village in a lovely rural area. I'm very lucky. We just get used to it.

When I was a kid, my mom bought me beautiful floral bedding for my bed that was centered between 3 windows that formed a giant bay window. Then she got extra sets and used the built in ruffles of the top sheets to create valances for all 3 windows. And she made matching bedding for my doll bed that my great grandfather built my grandmother when she was a baby. She had done something similar for my sister with the same doll bed a decade prior. She also recovered a foot stool my brother had built in high school to go in my room and painted the base to match all the decorative shelves and things she customized for my room. The hardest part of getting sheets at places like HomeGoods nowadays is finding multiple packages of the same thing to coordinate a lot of pieces.

I'm English. I hate the humidity and the stuffiness. Why do we not have air conditioning anywhere but supermarkets, which freeze your hands off in mid-summer!? I have been to the needlework school for a tour. I was blown away by the work on display in there and also by how tiny the place is. But the palace is huge and resplendent. It must be so fun to be "working" in there. A wonderful way to spend 2 weeks. I'd love to study stump work or black and white work there. But I could not do 2 weeks in a row. My body and eyes would not take it. I loved your video and the piece you produced is beautiful. Something you will always remember. I hope you can just wrap that frame up in cloth or brown paper and take it as hand luggage. You won't be the first taking one home. Your afternoon tea on the train looked perfect. Which train was it?

We did a family trip to Nova Scotia with my in-laws and yeah, buffeted by the wind was definitely not a strong enough term when we were out on the bluffs overlooking the ocean. We didn't see the "don't go out there if it's windy" sign till we got back... at one trail we took we picked up a solo traveler who wanted to walk with a group after reading the wildlife warnings. We kept up with her for several years afterwards on facebook! She seemed an adventurous introvert type too, was alwasy up to something interesting. I don't particularly enjoy travelling alone, it stresses me out. Travel in general does too but way worse when I'm alone, like when freezing rain at the airport I was leaving delayed departure to the point where I missed my connection and got re-routed through LaGuardia and arrived as my connection THERE was supposed to be departing, so I'm bolting through the place through multiple security checks crying cause I'm late and am gonna be stuck here in this godawful airport going through security checks for the rest of my life... fortunately the incoming plane was also delayed... then had to pay exhorbitant data fees to email the person waiting for me at my ultimate destination and hope to heck she checked her email at some point that day and was still going to be able to pick me up...

Oh my, England is so beautiful in the summer.

Warwick pronounced Warrick. In the UK a place with a cathedral is a city ( a couple of ex lusions) so Oxford a d Bath are cities. Driving is easier with either Google maps or Waze as they update on the go. Love your stuff

I'm from the northeast of England, Northumberland, but I've lived in Alberta Canada for 57 years, so I was looking forward to having a vicarious visit home with you. I took condensed summer courses at university so I could finish my degree faster, after I'd worked and saved up enough to do so. It's exhausting but also satisfying. You dive deep and learn intensely and it sticks. I saved this video until your second one posted so that I could prolong the experience. I'm off to watch that one now, and see where you went. Thank you for the Hampton Court sojourn, it was lovely. 💖🤗

My kids in Kansas all took Home Ec classes. The 90's. Funny, teachers taught them how to make pillows, even though their Mom is a professional seamstress, sometimes a teenager needs a different teacher. They all learned (4) how to sew fleece jackets with me before they were six, and all my daycare kids sewed Japanese quilts from kimona fabrics. Children can easily run sewing machines, and they love it. I love you guys together, rock on!

I appreciate the brain ramblings, too! Don't remember where I heard it, but years ago I tried to say my ABCs in my head and count to 10 out loud. It didn't work. My mouth kept counting, but my brain stopped to listen. I've used that a lot since then to make myself listen, but not lately. I need to again. THANK YOU for the reminder. AND all the rest of it. Edited to add: I just made it to the part where you finished the dress and that is GORGEOUS! You're not too pale to wear black! It looks great on you. Wear it around the house. You should just because you want to. Lastly, I like the fast projects. Gives me the gumption to try some myself. So if you like making them, please indulge yourself! 😅

TK Maxx in the UK as we already had a store called TJ Hughes and they didn’t want it to get confused. Yeah some of the lanes in the UK are a tad tight and seem more like wide paths. Well done for surviving them… plus you get to enjoy the tree tunnels
